About this roofing referral service
Warragul Roofing is a referral website run by Yes Right Pty Ltd. See what happens to your roofing enquiry and how to check a Victorian roof plumber's licence.
Warragul Roofing is an enquiry and referral website for roofing work in Warragul and the surrounding towns of Baw Baw Shire. The operator is Yes Right Pty Ltd (ABN 91 664 546 061). The site helps you describe a roof problem clearly so an independent local roofing business can look at it and decide whether to quote.
Yes Right Pty Ltd is not a roofing contractor, a roof plumber or a building company. It does not hold a plumbing licence or a building registration, does not employ tradespeople, and does not inspect, quote, supply or install anything. There is no Warragul workshop, no team on the tools and no completed project list behind this website. Any image on the site is an illustration of the type of work described, not a job done through an enquiry here.
What happens after you send an enquiry?
- You fill in the enquiry form with your suburb, contact details and a description of the roof and the problem. Photos and roof type help.
- Your details are passed to one independent provider that does roofing or roof plumbing work in your area, so it can respond to your enquiry.
- That provider contacts you, may ask more questions or ask to inspect the roof, and decides whether it can take the job.
- If it can, it gives you its own quote. You decide whether to accept it.
Sending the form does not book a visit or start a contract. Whether a provider is available, how soon it can respond and whether it accepts the work are all up to that provider. The provider may pay Yes Right Pty Ltd a referral fee. That fee does not change the provider’s obligations to you under Victorian law. Our privacy policy explains what we collect and who sees it.
Who is responsible for the quote and the roof work?
Everything from the first site visit onward sits between you and the provider. That includes:
- the scope of work, the quote and any variations
- the contract, deposit, payment terms and invoices
- workmanship, materials and any warranty the provider offers
- safety on and around your roof, including scaffolding, edge protection and harnesses
- permits, compliance certificates and insurance that the job requires
- cleaning up, removal of old materials and lawful disposal
Ask for the scope in writing before work starts, including what is excluded, how any rot, rust or broken tiles found during the job will be priced, and who arranges a skip or disposal.
How do I check a roofer’s licence in Victoria?
Roofing in Victoria is split between two kinds of work, and the checks differ.
Metal roofs, flashings, gutters and downpipes. Under the Plumbing Regulations 2018, roofing stormwater work covers metal roof coverings, roof flashings and the roof drainage system that collects and disposes of stormwater. That is plumbing work. The person doing it must be a licensed plumber in the roofing (stormwater) class, or a registered plumber supervised by one. The Building and Plumbing Commission (BPC) regulates this. Only a licensed plumber can issue a compliance certificate, and the BPC says one must be issued where the total value of the plumbing work, including materials, labour and GST, exceeds 750 dollars. Every licensed and registered plumber carries a BPC photo ID card listing the classes they can work in, and you can ask to see it.
Tile, slate and other non-metal roof coverings. The same regulation excludes roof coverings made of non-metallic tiles, timber, concrete, glass, bitumen or slate from roofing stormwater work. Tile restoration and re-tiling are not plumbing work, but any flashing, valley or gutter work on that roof still is. For any domestic building job worth more than 10,000 dollars that is not plumbing alone, Consumer Affairs Victoria says the business must be registered with the BPC and use a written major domestic building contract.
Check a provider before you sign anything:
- Search the BPC practitioner register by name, business name, licence or registration number, and see the classes and any conditions on the licence.
- Look the business up on the BPC Compliance and Enforcement Register, reached from the same page, for disciplinary or prosecution outcomes.
- Read Consumer Affairs Victoria’s guide to building practitioners for when registration, a major domestic building contract and Home Warranty apply. Home Warranty covers eligible domestic building work valued at more than 20,000 dollars under contracts signed on or after 1 July 2026, according to the BPC.
- If your roof may contain asbestos, the Victorian Asbestos Hub recommends a licensed asbestos removalist for any amount. WorkSafe Victoria keeps a directory of licensed asbestos removalists.
Do not rely on a business card, an advert or a quote alone. Ask for the licence or registration number and check it yourself.
Next step: send your roof enquiry
Browse the roofing services for guidance on common jobs, or read the Warragul enquiry page for local notes. When you are ready, describe your roof job with your suburb and postcode, the roof material (tile, metal or fibre cement), how many storeys, the approximate age of the house, what the problem is and when you first noticed it, and a few photos of the problem area taken from the ground or inside. Questions about an enquiry or your personal details can also be sent through that form.
